He has an excellent knowledge of the history, geography and ecology of both Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia, which he was always happy to share with us. We’ve just returned from an amazing five-week trip through northern Chile, Bolivia, Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia (October 20 to November 23, 2022 – 35 days in total), organised by a small local Chilean agency based in Puerto Natales. We were extremely happy with the whole experience. Everything was very well organised, both before we left and throughout the trip. There were five of us travelling through northern Chile and six for the Carretera Austral and Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. Julio was a knowledgeable and attentive guide who always listened to what we wanted and played a huge part in making the trip run so smoothly, from the restaurants and excursions to all the places we visited. The itinerary was perfectly suited to a five-week trip and was completely different from the standard tours offered by travel agencies in France. We also had excellent drivers throughout the journey: Edwin in northern Chile, Oscar and Erick in the Sud Lípez region of Bolivia, and Américo in Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. The accommodation and hotels were also very good. Julio was a friendly and professional tour leader, and the local guides were knowledgeable and interesting. We are a Spanish couple from the Canary Islands who travelled around Chile during the first week of December, and we would like to thank Julio and his team and highlight their excellent organisation throughout our visit to Chilean and Argentinian Patagonia. We had a fantastic 15-day trip around Chile at the beginning of March. We started in Santiago before spending five days in San Pedro de Atacama, exploring some incredible places such as the Valley of the Moon, the Atacama Salt Flat and the Tatio Geysers. From there, we visited Valparaíso before heading south to Patagonia, where we explored Magdalena Island, Torres del Paine National Park and the Grey Glacier. The whole trip was very well organised, from the airport transfers and hotels to all the excursions. Everything ran smoothly and the guides were excellent throughout. We travelled with Patagonie Trekking, run by Julio, and had a brilliant experience.

Hello, In August 2024, six of us, all friends, spent two weeks travelling through northern Chile and Bolivia. We contacted Julio from Patagonie Trekking after he was recommended to us by friends who had travelled through Patagonia in 2023. The itinerary was tailored to our budget and took us through the Chilean Altiplano, Lake Chungará in the Arica region and the magnificent Salar de Surire. Then came the part we had been looking forward to the most: the Salar de Uyuni and Laguna Colorada in Bolivia, the Sud Lípez region and San Pedro de Atacama in Chile. The drivers and guides made the whole trip a fantastic experience. We were a little worried about the altitude, but we adapted really well thanks to the gradual ascent. The high plateaus at 4,500 metres were a bit cold, but absolutely beautiful. Travelling through the vast and remote landscapes of Bolivia gave us a real sense of connection with the Andean wilderness. A fantastic trip that we would definitely recommend.
